About us

The Company was started by Emilio Rivas and Adolfo Gonzalez Snr and two other partners.  By 1991 Emilio Rivas and Adofo  Gonzalez were the two remaining partners in the business.  Both partners originated from Spain and come to South Africa in the 1960’s when the country  was looking for qualified artisans from abroad.

In 1999 due to a lucrative project we had to move premises from Deal party in Port Elizabeth to our current address in Struandale Port Elizabeth.

The Company has grown from strength to strength since its humble beginnings in Dudley Street , Neave Township and now boasts a staff compliment of  130 employees.

In 2007 tragedy struck and Adolfo Gonzalez Snr passed away it was at this time that his son Adolfo Gonzalez Jnr took over the reigns from his father.

The Company is divided into two divisions, Production which is run by Emilio Rivas and the Tool Room which is run by Adolfo Gonzalez.  All Tooling and tool design is done in-house.

We also pride ourselves in the fact that we have never gone out looking for work but have obtained work through “word of mouth”, which speaks volumes for our dedication and work ethic.

Due to the increase in manufacture of shells and cones for the Catalytic Convertor Industry we had to introduce an in-house wash plant in 2009.

We have been a Tier one supplier to General Motors since the inception of the Company.

We are also involved with the export of automotive components to GM Brazil since 2011 and Knitmesh Technologies in the UK since 2011.

Perfect Tooling is a keen investor in our employees, offering on the job training across all departments including tool, jig and die making apprenticeships as well as offering competitive wages and salaries.  We attribute this to a low turnover of employees.  A large number of employees have been with the Company for more than ten years.  Over the years a number of employees have left for “greener pastures” only to return.  We are also in our second year of offering training to 10 unemployed people under the MERSETA.

Over the past 3 decades we have won various Supplier awards and pride ourselves on very low PPM’s.  We strive for zero defective products and on time delivery to our Customers.
We are currently accredited to ISO/TS 16949:2009.
